Fatah: Calls on relief organizations to dispatch relief aids to affected people in Al-Maharah

Minister of Local Administration—Chairman of Supreme Relief Committee—Abdulraqeeb Fatah asked UN's relief agencies and others to rush up to relieve the people who suffered as a result of Laban tropical storm that hit Monday several districts of Al-Maharah province.

The districts of Al-Gheitha, Hoof and Husween are reported to have been largely affected by the gale. "Relief stuffs and shelters are now urgently needed", said Fatah.

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) Fatah demanded the UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen Lise Grande to advise the UN's relief agencies to take every necessary measure to help the affected population." Dispatching field teams to sustain local authorities' efforts and help rescue groups are urgently required", Fatah said.
