Marib Health Ministry branch launches malnutrition survey

The Ministry of Public Health and Population branch office launched a survey of malnutritionin the province on Wednesday with support from the UNICEF.

The three-week survey aims at measuring the nutrition of 1,100 children and their mothers to detect malnourished cases and gather accurate data based on scientific and methodological basis from all districts of the province.

Marib's Deputy Governor for Administrative Affairs, Abdullah Al-Bakeri stressed the importance of carrying out such surveys in various health fields in order to detect early diseases and provide accurate information that enable the formulation of disease combating plans.

The Director General of the branch office Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Shaddaditold Saba that 30 health workers are involved in the survey.

The province of Marib is hosting hundreds of thousands of Yemenis displaced by the Houthi rebels over the past years.
