The Board of Directors of the Social Fund for Development (SFD) held a meeting on Wednesday chaired by Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board, Dr. Shaya Mohsen Zindani.

The meeting was dedicated to reviewing the progress of the Fund's operations, activities and projects, as well as discussing measures to strengthen its institutional efficiency and ensure the continuity of its development programs in accordance with the highest standards of governance and transparency.

The Board reviewed the completion of the technical and administrative requirements related to the Fund's commitments to donors and development partners.

It also discussed procedures governing the management of ongoing contracts and agreements following the relocation of the SFD's headquarters and executive management to the interim capital, Aden.

These measures are intended to ensure the uninterrupted implementation of projects, reinforce mutual trust with international partners, and preserve the Fund's standing as one of Yemen's national success stories in the management of development programs.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with donors and supporting international institutions, while providing the institutional and administrative environment necessary to sustain the Fund's success.

He emphasized that these efforts would enhance the confidence of development partners and create opportunities to expand support and financing for priority development projects.

He further stressed that the independence of the Social Fund for Development is one of the key pillars of its success and the continued confidence of donors.

The government, he said, remains firmly committed to preserving this independence and upholding the principles of good governance, transparency, and accountability upon which the Fund was established.

This, he noted, will ensure that the SFD continues to fulfill its development mission efficiently and professionally across all regions of Yemen, free from any interference or considerations that are inconsistent with its national and developmental objectives.
