Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries Salem al-Soqotri is leading Yemen's delegation to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization's (FAO) Global Conference on Smart Agriculture, which opened in Rome with broad international participation.
The three-day conference brings together policymakers, development partners, private-sector representatives, civil society organizations, researchers, and agricultural specialists to examine ways of expanding climate-smart agricultural systems and accelerating the adoption of innovative farming practices.
Participants are expected to discuss policy priorities, investment opportunities, and international cooperation needed to scale up practical, locally adapted agricultural solutions, with particular attention to improving the resilience and productivity of smallholder farmers.
