Prime Minister Receives Outgoing U.S. Ambassador

Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dr. Shaya Zindani met on Sunday with U.S. Ambassador to Yemen Steven Fagin on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission in the country.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed appreciation for Ambassador Fagin’s efforts throughout his tenure, commending his role in strengthening cooperation and advancing bilateral relations between Yemen and the United States. He also wished him success in his future assignments.

Dr. Zindani praised the continued support provided by the United States to the Yemeni government as it confronts the exceptional challenges posed by the war and the Iran-backed Houthi coup, along with the resulting humanitarian and economic hardships.

For his part, Ambassador Fagin expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Yemeni government for the cooperation and facilitation extended to him during his mission, which he said contributed significantly to the success of his work.

He reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to supporting the Yemeni government’s efforts to restore state institutions, address ongoing challenges, implement reforms, and promote peace, stability, and development.
