MASAM removes 2639 Houthi-laid landmines in 10 days

King Salman Humanitarian and Relief Center's demining project in Yemen known as "MASAM" reported that its demining teams managed to remove 2639 of landmines, unexploded ordnances (UXO) and improvised explosive devices (IED) during past ten days of this month, April 2026.

In the second week of this month, Aprol, the deminers removed 1408 of landmines, UXO and IED, while last week 1329 of UXO, 67 anti-tanks and 10 anti-personnel landmines were removed.
Since it has started its demining operations in the region of Midi, Hajja governorate, 8,434 of landmines, UXO and IED were removed.

It is important to mention that since it has commenced its demining mission in June 2028 until now, MASAM managed to remove 553,828 of landmines, UXO and IED from different Yemeni regions.

The Director of MASAM Osama al-Qasaibi confirmed that 387,468 UXO, 150,798 anti-tank and 7,142 anti-personnel landmines and 8,420 IED were removed.
All landmines were randomly planted by the Iranian regime backed terrorist Houthi militias.
