China leads world in production, sales of new energy vehicles

China has ranked first in the world for ten consecutive years, in terms of the production volume and sales volume of new energy vehicles, which amounted to 12.888 million units and 12.866 million units, respectively.

China has jumped from tens of thousands to tens of millions in both the production and sales of new energy vehicles over the past ten years, exporting them to more than 70 countries and regions, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said in a statement.

The statement pointed out that Chinese-made new energy vehicles have seen an improvement in the performance of products, the industrial system and the ease of use of products, as the average distance that new energy vehicles can travel continuously with the maximum number of batteries has reached almost 500 kilometers.
