Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Maj. Gen. Aidaroos al-Zubaidi received the Djibouti Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Diaa Al-Din Bamkhrama to discuss coordination of security efforts between Yemen and Djibouti in a way that safeguards international security and peace, combat piracy and protect international shipping in the strategic sea lane.
Maj. Gen. al-Zubaidi welcomed the Djibouti diplomat, appreciating the brotherly and historical ties between his country and Yemen, stressing the importance of strengthening these ties for the mutual interest of the two nations.
Talks went over the latest humanitarian and political developments in Yemen in light of the dramatic developments unfolding in the region including the continued escalation by the terrorist Houthi militia against international shipping in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab and the Gulf of Aden.
Al-Zubaidi laid emphasis on the importance of the Djibouti role in coordinating positions of the countries bordering the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden to ensure the security of the international maritime corridor, and coordinating cooperation between Arab and African states in the region.He appreciated the humanitarian role of Djibouti in hosting displaced Yemenis and providing them with the necessary support in light of Yemen's hard conditions.
