The General Corporation for Telecommunications and the Yemeni International Telecommunications Company (TeleYemen), in Aden, today strongly condemned the threats of the terrorist Houthi militia to target international marine cables, following the disturbing and dangerous developments in the Red Sea.
In a statement they condemned the Houthi coup militias’ continued militarization of the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait and the militia's efforts to disrupt the global economy by targeting the international communications infrastructure.
They noted that over the past years, this militia have systematically targeted the communications infrastructure in Yemen using drones, and exploited the state institutions it illegally took control of in 2015 to finance their terrorist activities and collect information to suppress its opponents and journalists.
