Deputy Governor of Marib governorate Dr. Abd-Rabbu Meftah held discussions here today, Wednesday, with a visiting team from the Foreign and Development British Ministry headed by senior security advisor Max Fendal.
The team included the Military Attaché, Humanitarian Advisor and First Secretary in the British embassy in the Republic of Yemen.
The conversations covered topics relating to the humanitarian, political and security situations in the governorate as well as the pivotal role of Marib governorate in the peace making process.
Dr. Meftah provided an informative presentation about the humanitarian situations in the governorate which has been hosting some 62 percent of the overall Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in the country, citing the shortages of the humanitarian interventions and aids by the UN's agencies and international organizations.
He said" Marib like other Yemeni governorates and people is desperately looking forward to see the peace that is based on the agreed on terms of references".
The leader of the British team stated that their visit aimed to get first-hand information about the situations in the governorate, to boost the relations with the local authority and to comprehend Marib's vision about the peace making process.
It is important to note that the British team paid a visit to al-Jofainah IDPs Camp, which is the largest camp in the country.
