The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel Al-Assoumi, welcomed the United Nations announcement to start unloading the Safer tanker, as part of the project it is leading to prevent oil spillage from the tanker anchored on the Red Sea coast off the city of Hodeidah.

In a statement, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament stressed the importance of this step, as it will avoid a major environmental catastrophe in the Red Sea region, calling on the international community to provide all necessary support to complete this process.

Al-Assoumi appreciated the role of KSrelief, last year, providing $10 million to contribute to this process.
