Aden – Saba
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Waed Bathib, discussed today, in the interim capital, Aden, with the Resident Representative of UNICEF in Yemen, Peter Hawkins, the level of the organization's interventions in the humanitarian sectors during the current year 2023 AD, according to the organization's plan, as well as enhancing aspects of joint cooperation between the two sides.
Minister Bathib stressed the importance of UNICEF interventions during the last stage in a number of educational, health and social care fields, noting the importance of the organization expanding the scope of its projects and interventions to ensure that large areas benefit from the projects, especially in remote areas and those in greatest need.
He reaffirmed the importance of supporting national institutions such as the Social Welfare Fund, as part of the efforts to build the capacities of the authorities at the central and subsidiary levels, as well as supporting national civil society organizations to be able to provide the minimum level of services in all sectors, the most important of which are the health, education and social protection sectors.
