Yemen, US discuss activating oil production

Minister of Oil and Minerals Abdulsalam Ba'aboud has confirmed Yemen's keenness on boosting and improving cooperation and partnership with the United States in field of oil and gas investments and activating oil and gas production.

In a meeting with US Ambassador to Yemen Christopher Hansel on Tuesday, Ba'aboud provided detailed explanation on economic and development situation in Yemen and challenges facing resumption of oil and gas production and government's efforts in this field.

He confirmed keenness of the political leadership of Yemen on importance of boosting cooperation and partnership with the US and providing necessary support and care to US companies for resuming oil and gas production in the country.

For his part, the US diplomat confirmed readiness of his country on boosting cooperation and partnership in field of oil and gas.

He renewed his country's keenness on opening communication channels between US companies and Yemen's ministry of oil and minerals for resuming oi production.
