Culture Minister stresses protection of historical sites in Hadhramout

Minister of Culture has stressed the imperative of protecting historical sites in Wadi Hadhramout against land looting and unlicensed construction of houses.
In a visit to Qarat Asanahijah, a site that dates back to the sixth and seventh Hijri century, Minister Marwan Dammaj called for holding those responsible for construction violations in the site accountable and urged the local authorities to raise public awareness about respecting heritage sites.
As part of the tour, the minister also visited the Old Mosque in Boorregion and the Tomb of Prophet Handhalah bin Safwan.
