Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh has praised US efforts for extending weapons ban on Iran and facing Tehran terrorism in the region, expressing regret over failure of Security Council to extend the ban on Iran, which will reflect negatively on international stability.
In his meeting with US Ambassador Christopher Hansel on Tuesday, the two parties discussed latest developments on national arena and mutual relations between the two countries.
He praised US role helping legitimacy and for realizing peace in Yemen, reaffirming the position of the internationally-recognized government for supporting efforts of the UN envoy for realizing peace on the bases of the three references; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216.
He also pointed out to the government's positive dealing with different peace initiatives while Houthi militia continues its terrorism and violations against Yemeni people and stubbornness on rejecting efforts for solving Safir Oil Tanker's issue.
Vice President confirmed continuous efforts for finalizing implementation of Riyadh Agreement as implementation of the agreement represents significance step of unifying national fronts for regaining the state and its institutions.
He considered SC and international community's silence towards Houthi militia's military escalation, snipping children and continuous firing rockets and directing bombed jets towards Saudi cities.
For his part, the US diplomat pointed out to his country's continuous support to the government and efforts of realizing peace in Yemen, praising US-Yemen partnership in fighting terrorism.
He praised government's positive steps for speeding up implementation of Riyadh Agreement and Saudi role in this regard.
