Parliament Speaker Sultan al-Barakani and the accompanying delegation met Monday- at the premises of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs- with Minister of Foreign Affairs Nilz Annen.
Al-Barakani praised German support to Yemen in different fields, especially development.
He confirmed deep historical relations between the two countries and issues of common concern.
He pointed to latest developments in Yemen and the process of the inclusive peace in the country, as well as efforts exerted for ending conflicts in accordance with the three internationally-supported references; the Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216.
He praised efforts of the Saudi-led Coalition for supporting Yemen in different domains and keenness on realizing peace in the country, pointing out that the political leadership's keenness on realizing peace is faced by Houthi militia's stubbornness and rejection of implementing international agreements.
He confirmed that the sole and the good entrance for peace in Yemen is implementing the aforementioned three references.
Regarding Riyadh Agreement, al-Barakani confirmed that the government of Yemen is working hard to implement it.
He reviewed Iranian dangerous agenda implemented by Houthi militia against Yemen and Arab region, pointing out that Houthi coup destroyed democratic experiment in Yemen as a leading one in the whole region and eradicated freedom's principles, harmed woman and seized her rights.
Regarding Stockholm Agreement, al-Barakani pointed out to Houthi militia's rejection to implement it and revealed their escalations in a number of provinces, a matter urges the government to reconsider its position towards implementing the agreement, calling for international firm positions against Houthi militia's escalations and its obstinacy towards implementing the agreement and UN resolutions.
For his part, the German foreign minister confirmed his country's support to the government and president and expressed Germany's condemnation to all Houthi escalations targeting civilians and firing ballistic rockets on mosques.
He also expressed his country's concern over complicating humanitarian crisis in Yemen and condemned taxes imposed by Houthi militia on humanitarian assistances.
He renewed German government's support to steps of implementing Riyadh Agreement and all efforts aiming at realizing peace in Yemen.
