RIYADH-SABA
Prime Minister Ma'een Abdulmalik discussed Tuesday with US Ambassador to Yemen Christopher Hanzel latest developments in Yemen.
The meeting dealt with mutual relations, joint efforts for facing Iranian destructive agenda in Yemen and the region, issues associated with Riyadh Agreement, US support to the internationally- recognized government and Yemeni people in different fields.
Prime Minister reviewed government's efforts in the transitional capital of Aden and other liberated provinces in service and economic fields and its accomplishments in commitments of implementing Riyadh Agreement and needed international support to the government of Yemen.
He confirmed government's commitment to President Hadi's directives to keep the state institutions away of influence of any party outside the legal authority and to do its duty regarding implementation of the agreement.
He pointed out to Houthi militia's recent military escalation and its continuous rejection to all chances of political solution in implementation to Iran's directives, noting to continuous Iranian weapon smuggling to Houthis in a blatant violation to international community's decisions and these acts must be deterred and firm sanctions must be imposed against Iran to stop its interferences and its insistence on exporting terrorism.
"We praised US Marines' seizure of a ship carrying out Iranian weapons to Houthi militia, which requires taking deterring measures against this regime's insurgency and interferences in destabilizing Yemen," said prime minister.
For his part, the US diplomat praised efforts of the government and its accomplishments in Aden during the past period, urging all parties to implement Riyadh Agreement as prime entrance to Yemeni crisis.
The seizure of the ship confirmed US Administration's anxiousness regarding Iran's role in destabilizing Yemen, said Hanzel, adding that this reveals Iran's foreign role and plots to diminish Yemen's security.
He confirmed US Keenness on stopping Iran's support to Houthis, renewing his country's support to the government of Yemen and realizing peace.
