Bajjash: Government will not hesitate to protect human rights in Yemen
[10/09/2019 07:05]

RIYADH-SABA
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Mansour Bajjash discussed Tuesday with Charge D' Affairs of Philippian Embassy in Yemen Christopher Aro latest developments in Yemen and government's efforts for regaining order and imposing stability.

Bajjash pointed out that the Iran- backed militia is still rejecting peace calls and cause more humanitarian suffering against Yemeni people; recruiting children as soldiers, planting mines, arresting journalists and activists and postponing implementation of prisoners and kidnapped people.

He pointed to Houthi crimes of using civilians as human shields and building weapon stores in populated areas.
Silence of international community and international organizations has encouraged the militia to upsurge their crimes, said Bajjash.

" The government will not hesitate to protect human rights in Yemen embarking from its national and international responsibilities," he said adding while the government appreciates all international efforts for supporting and boosting national capabilities, it at the same time rejects any interference weakening these capabilities or politicizing human rights file as a pretext for interfering in internal affairs.

He pointed to some western countries' attempt for politicizing human rights in Yemen via imposing extension to senior experts team through Human Rights Council, confirming that the team's report is based on misleading information in addition to its bias and illogical contents according to testimonies of some countries in the council.

He pointed out that the government made its comments on the report, which was totally biased and dishonest, noting that Philippine has become also a target for some western countries trying to use human rights to impose their policies on Philippian government.

He pointed to government's concern that the Human Rights Council could be changed into a mean used by some western countries to interfere in countries internal affairs, a matter requires integrated position against these attempts.
