Oil Ministry condemns oil and gas pipeline blasts in Shabwah

The Ministry of Oil and Minerals has condemned the bombing of oil and gas pipelines in Shabwa over the past two weeks, the latest of which was Wednesday's bombing of an LNG pipeline in the eastern Yemen province.
"Such vandalistic acts only target the resources and vital interests of the people," read the Ministry's statement. The statement warned that such blasts fail the arduous efforts exerted to create an attractive environment for investment and setbacks the return of foreign oil companies to Yemen.
The Ministry regretted the fact that such bombings took place in the areas of control of what is known as the "Shabwani Elite Forces" . The statement called upon the army to secure all oil and gas companies and pipelines.
