Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Ibtihaj al-Kamal discussed on Sunday with Representative of World Health Organization in Aden Nuha Mahmoud cooperation between the two parties in different fields.
Minister al-Kamal confirmed taking care of disabled people, whose number reached 1.2 million before the war, noting that the number is increasing immensely over the war triggered by Houthi militia.
The disabled are in need of continuous medication, she said, hoping more support from the organization to the republic of Yemen in this field.
She confirmed her ministry's efforts for activating health and professional safety general administration in the ministry and opening branches to the administration in key provinces.
She made it clear that the ministry is preparing a strategy for the old people in coordination with public health ministry as the category of the old reaches 12 percent of sects suffer marginalization in the society.
For her part, the WHO representative praised cooperation and coordination between the ministry and the organization serving the interest of targeted categories.
She confirmed the organization is seeking to support Yemen in accordance with priorities like taking care of disabled and old people.
