The Permanent Representative of Yemen to the United Nations, Abdullah Ali al-Saadi said the Houthi violations of the ceasefire agreement in Hodeida city "can't belooked at as individual acts."

Addressing the Security Council's meeting ofWednesday, he said the violations are part of a strategy and directives of higher Houthi command as the rebel militia have been seeking to undermine the Stockholm Agreement. He said that the militia did not only dishonor the withdrawal from the city and ports of Hodeidah, but "until 7 January, had committed 434 violations with 33 people killed and more than 200 injured by sniper fire, mortars and ballistic missiles." The militia is also digging trenches and making the access of humanitarian aid to the localsmore difficult.

He said that the withdrawal and redeployment provisions in the Stockholm Agreement are clearand their implementation is inevitable.

He warned that any delays or extensions of the established timeline should not servethe Houthi militia's tactics.

He said that Yemen looks forward to the UN and international community's taking of a tough approach toward this militia todeter them from continuing the habit of disregardingand dishonoring agreements.
