GENEVA-SABA
The Yemeni Coalition for Monitoring Human Rights Violations (YCMHRV) informed the UN Human Rights Council on Monday on the status of recruitment of child soldiers by terrorist groups mainly the Houthi and a-Qaeda organizations.
In a speech in the 39th session of the UNHRC in Geneva, the YCMHRV said child soldiers constitute about one-third of theHouthi rebel fighters, and the victims of this practice are estimated at hundreds of casualties apart from the other violations the child recruits get subjected to.
"Terrorist groups have benefited from the prevailing poverty and closure of schools to step up their recruitment and indoctrinating children," the YCMHRV said.
