MARIB-SABA
There is an integrated plan in place for rehabilitating children affected by the ongoing conflict in Yemen, a concerned official has said.
Abdurahman Qubati the Director of the Project for Rehabilitating Children Formerly Recruited or Otherwise Affected by the conflict told Saba said a plan is in place to rehabilitate nearly 2000 affected children in sessions sponsored by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSreleif) in Mari, Aden and Hodeidah after Eid al-Adhaha. The Project is conducted by Wethaq Foundation for Civil Orientation (WCO) and KSrelief .
WCO has found that the Houthi rebel militia recruited more than 4,000 child fighters over the past three years, Qubati said.
The Project is currently rehabilitating affected children and, through courses, raising the awareness of 27 parents of ex-child soldiers about the risks of children's participation in armed conflicts. Several parents and affected children had finished such rehab and awareness-raising courses.
