Presidential Decisions Bring Historic Gains for Yemeni Women
The recent republican decisions issued yesterday, Thursday, marked a new turning point in promoting the participation of Yemeni women in decision-making positions. The decisions included the appointment of Dr. Afrah Abdulaziz Al-Zouba as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, making her the first woman in the country's history to hold this sovereign portfolio. Moreover, Dr. Ahd Mohammed Salem Jaasous was appointed Minister of Local Administration, becoming the first woman to take on this ministry since the establishment of the republic.

Al-Shadadi reviews Yemen's situation toInter- Parliament Union

Parliament Member Mohammad al-Shadadi met on Friday here with Chairman of Egyptian People Council and the Representative of Arab Group at the Executive Committee of Inter- Parliament Union Ali Abdul-Aal.

They discussed tragic humanitarian conditions in Yemen over Houthi-Saleh's war and their insistence on proceeding with war and their coup against outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference agreed upon by different forces of Yemeni people.

He noted to Houthi-Saleh's militias' rejection to international resolutions and the GCC Initiative, which stipulates on peaceful transfer of power in the framework of legitimacy and building the state's institutions.

He called on the International Community to put pressure on the rebel militias for the sake of realizing the inclusive and permanent peace, regaining the state's institutions, normalizing conditions, reconstitutions and rescuing Yemenis from the tragic conditions they suffered over the coup.
