[18/08/2017 09:56]

NEW YORK-SABA
The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen Jamie McGoldrick has accused Houthi-Saleh's militias of hindering humanitarian relief efforts in their-held areas.

"Partners of Humanitarian Activities are facing since month hindrances by Sana'a authorities for allowing relief workers to Yemen and they interfere in human efforts, choosing executive partners and abducting relief vehicles," said McGoldrick.

He also noted that incidents of aid transfer from targeted beneficiaries in areas under the rebel militias are increasing.

Pressure is increasing on relief agencies to expand their services while basic social services are going to collapse, he said.

He confirmed that humanitarian access to relief without obstacles is basic issue for rescuing souls of those who depend on aid, especially under cholera epidemic and famine that threatens around 7 million people.

He expressed concern over militias' insistence of hindering needy people access to relief substances.
