The Chargé d’Affaires of Yemen's Embassy in Damascus Mohammed Baaker discussed Saturday with the Director of the Syrian Diplomatic Institute Yasser al-Jundi ways to strengthen academic and training cooperation.

The two parties discussed necessary arrangements for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the diplomatic institutes of the two brotherly countries.

During the meeting, held at the headquarters of the Diplomatic Institute in the Syrian capital, Damascus, the two sides discussed the key steps and main areas of the proposed MoU, which aims to institutionalize bilateral cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise, as well as develop training and capacity-building programs for diplomatic and administrative staff through joint training courses and discussion sessions.

Baaker emphasized the importance of this step in developing diplomatic and academic relations between the two countries. He also praised the academic role played by the Syrian Diplomatic Institute in preparing and training personnel and equipping them with the knowledge needed to keep pace with current international and political developments.

For his part, the Director of the Syrian Diplomatic Institute welcomed the commencement of coordination for signing the MoU, expressing the Institute’s readiness to open broader avenues for joint cooperation and to provide all available facilities and training programs in a manner that serves the aspirations and interests of the two countries and their brotherly peoples.
