Yemen's Ambassador to Japan Adel al-Sunaini met with Member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party's Foreign Affairs Committee Kei Takagi to discuss bilateral relations and the latest developments in Yemen.

Ambassador al-Sunaini expressed the Yemeni government's appreciation for Japan's continued support for the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and Yemen's unity and territorial integrity. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation on maritime security in light of threats posed by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia to international shipping in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

For his part, Takagi reaffirmed Japan's support for Yemen's unity, stability, and territorial integrity, as well as its continued backing for efforts to achieve peace and expand bilateral cooperation in support of security and stability in Yemen and the region.
