Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Governor of Hadramout Salem al-Khanbashi inspected Sunday the conditions of citizens in the city of Mukalla following the heavy rains hit the city and the surrounding areas.
The PLC member, accompanied by the Undersecretary of Hadramout Governorate Hassan al-Jailani and the Director General of Mukalla District Fayyadh Baamer, toured several neighborhoods and streets in the city.
They listened to briefings from the emergency committee, headed by Undersecretary al-Jailani, as well as from citizens, regarding the extent of the damage caused by the weather depression and their urgent needs to address its repercussions.
Governor al-Khanbashi praised the cooperation of citizens and volunteer youth teams with the relevant authorities, stressing the importance of joint official, civil and community efforts to overcome the effects of the rainfall.
He also emphasized the need to quickly address blockages in rainwater drainage networks and reopen closed roads to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Al-Khanbashi further directed local authority leaders in the districts to form field emergency teams to respond immediately to any emergencies and provide necessary support to affected citizens.
