EU says Hadramaut and Al Mahra developments threaten to bring risks to Gulf region

The European Union has expressed concern over recent developments in Yemen’s eastern governorates of Hadramaut and Al Mahra, warning that the situation poses new risks to regional stability in the Gulf.

In an official statement released by the European External Action Service (EEAS), the EU called for immediate de-escalation, saying, "The recent developments in the Yemeni governorates of Hadramaut and Al Mahra threaten to bring new risks to the Gulf region.

The EU calls for de-escalation and avoiding steps that further threaten the stability of Yemen and the region," the statement read.

Reaffirming its longstanding position, the EU reiterated its strong commitment to Yemen’s unity, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.
