Authority, in the temporary capital Aden, confirmed that airlines, international organizations and operators must obtain a prior flight permission from the Authority to enter the airspace of the Republic of Yemen, as it is the official civil aviation authority of the country.

Minister of Health Discusses Strengthening Partnership with UNFPA

Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qasem Buhaibeh met Wednesday with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Representative to Yemen Františko Galenberry.

He discussed with him enhancing mutual cooperation and prioritizing support for health services in the coming period.

The Minister stressed the importance of strengthening the partnership between the two parties amid the current challenges facing the health sector led by declining funding and increasing needs.

He called for unifying efforts and working as one team to ensure the continuity of vital programs and to implement next year’s plan with higher efficiency.

Dr. Buhaibeh praised the outcomes of the maternal and newborn health campaigns carried out in recent months, emphasizing the importance of continuing support for the medical supply chain and reinforcing components of the health system to ensure service sustainability.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Health for the Population Sector Dr. Salem Al-Shabhi appreciated the Fund’s interventions in reproductive health, midwifery and youth programs.

He expressed hope that these initiatives would expand to include additional governorates in the coming period.

For his part, the UNFPA Representative emphasized the importance of setting priorities to bridge existing gaps, noting that the Fund will continue working under the Ministry’s umbrella to ensure coordination and complementarity of efforts in a way that positively reflects on the services provided to the population.
