Yemen Condemns Repeated Israeli Attacks Against Palestinians in West Bank

Vice Foreign Minister discusses with Gulf permanent delegates enhancing cooperation on refugee issues

Vice Foreign Minister Mustafa Noman discussed separately with the permanent delegates of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in Geneva ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and coordination on humanitarian issues, human rights and refugees.

During his meeting with the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi ArabiabAmbassador Abdulmohsen bin Hathila, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed the Yemeni government's deep appreciation for the firm fraternal positions adopted by the Kingdom in support of Yemen in various international forums.

He praised the pivotal Saudi role in supporting the government's efforts in the areas of relief and reconstruction, pushing for the adoption of the technical assistance resolution and building capabilities for Yemen by consensus during the sixtieth session of the Human Rights Council.

During the meeting, aspects of cooperation in the field of supporting refugees and displaced persons were discussed.

The discussed enhancing coordination between the two countries in the regional and international frameworks in order to achieve a sustainable humanitarian response.

In his his meeting with the Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates Ambassador Jamal Al-Mashrakh, he praised the prominent humanitarian role played by the UAE in supporting the Yemeni people.

The two parties also reviewed developments in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, stressing the importance of continuing technical and institutional support for Yemen in the field of managing displacement and asylum issues and coordinating Arab positions in relevant UN forums.

The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, along with the Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman Ambassador Idris Al-Khanjari, reviewed the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries and stressed the importance of cooperation on humanitarian and development issues.

He expressed the Yemeni government's appreciation for the fraternal positions adopted by the Sultanate of Oman in supporting peace and relief efforts in Yemen.

He appreciated positive role within the collective efforts that contributed to the adoption of the resolution on technical assistance and capacity building for Yemen in the Human Rights Council by consensus.

For his part, the Omani delegate stressed his country's keenness to continue consultation and coordination with Yemen and to support its national institutions in the field of humanitarian protection.

During his meeting with the Bahraini delegate, the Deputy Foreign Minister expressed his thanks to the Kingdom of Bahrain for supporting Yemen in the Human Rights Council.

The meeting discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of human rights and refugee issues and the importance of strengthening joint Gulf action to support stability in Yemen and the region.

During the meetings, the Vice Foreign Minister stressed the keenness to inform the permanent delegates of the most important results of his discussions with the High Commissioner for Refugees and Yemen's needs in the field of technical and institutional support to enhance the government's capabilities in managing asylum and displacement files.
