the member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Maj. General Aidaroos al-Zubaidi, chaired an expanded meeting Today, Sunday, at the headquarters of the Aden Refinery Company, included the leadership of the Ministry of Oil, the Management of the Aden Refinery Company, the Management of the Oil Company in the temporary capital Aden and representatives from the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Yemen (YCB) to discuss underway efforts to operate the refinery and the oil sectors in Yemen.
The meeting reviewed the level of implementation of the decisions issued by the Supreme Committee for Sovereign and Local Revenues regarding the completion of the necessary procedures for securing the funding required to operate the refinery, the difficulties faced in this matter, as well as the steps taken to communicate with the Chinese company that is responsible for the construction and operation of the power station for the refinery.
The PLC's Member was detailed on the outcomes of the meetings brought together the Ministry of Oil's leadership, the refinery management and the CBY represented by the Islamic Sukuk Unit to complete the procedures related to securing the funding needed by the refinery management for re-operating it.
The Executive Director of Aden Refinery Eng. Ahmed Mas'ad reported to al-Zubaidi about the outcomes of the company's communications with the Chinese company which is responsible for executing the project of the power generation unit at the refinery, to come back to complete the installation of the power station and operate it as soon as possible.
The meeting also reviewed the achievements of the leadership of the Ministry of Oil regarding providing 6,000 barrels of oil daily for refining at the Aden refinery as a first phase, and the efforts made by the Ministry to transport crude oil to operate power generation stations in the temporary capital Aden.
The discussions touched on the mechanisms to operate the oil blocs in the concession areas of Shabwa and Hadramout governorates and the challenges they face.
