Ambassador Faqira discusses with the Jordanian Parliament official ways to enhance cooperation

Yemen's Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Jalal Faqira discussed Tuesday with Dina al-Bashir, the Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Jordanian Parliament enhancing parliamentary cooperation and increasing coordination between the two brotherly countries in regional and international forums.

Ambassador Faqira reviewed the latest developments in Yemen, the situation in the Red Sea and the efforts made by the Presidential Leadership Council, led by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, to address the economic and security challenges caused by the Houthi terrorist militias.

Faqira also addressed the content and implications of the U.S. decision to designate the Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization, which came into effect on March 4, 2025, along with the list of individuals subject to U.S. Treasury sanctions.

For her part, the Jordanian Parliament official affirmed the depth of Yemeni-Jordanian relations, reiterating Jordan's commitment to strengthening ties in all areas and emphasizing Jordan's positions on various Arab issues, as well as supporting all efforts aimed at building peace and maintaining Yemen's security, stability and territorial integrity.

Members of the Jordanian Parliament expressed Jordan's interest, under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in the developments in Yemen, including receiving and treating injured and sick Yemenis in Jordanian hospitals and providing them with necessary healthcare.

They emphasized the importance of reaching a comprehensive solution that meets the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security and peace.
