The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qasem Buhaibeh discussed Friday in with Indian Ambassador to Yemen Suhail Ajaz Khan ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the health sector.
The Health Minister commended the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and the Indian support provided to the health sector.
He emphasized the importance of opening new horizons for the relations, especially in the areas of training and rehabilitation, as well as renewing previous agreements to institutionalize the role of training and treatment grants.
During the meeting, attended by the Deputy Ministers for Planning Sector, Dr. Ahmed al-Kamal, and Curative Medicine, Dr. Shawqi al-Sharjabi, Minister Buhaibeh expressed interest in the possibility of investing in the pharmaceutical industries, considering that India holds the top position in (exporting medicines), as well as establishing investment hospitals in Aden and other governorates.
For his part, the Indian Ambassador expressed great understanding of the various topics discussed by the Health Minister and committed to studying them and taking appropriate action.
