The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

Taiz Security Committee discusses latest military developments

The Security Committee of Taiz held Sunday a meeting presided over by Deputy Governor Abdulqawi al-Mikhlafi and Chief of Staff of Taiz Military Pivot Major General Abdulaziz al-Majidi, discussing latest military and security developments in Taiz Governorate.

In the meeting, attended by Deputy Governor for Defense and Security Affairs Major General Abdulkareem al-Saberi and commanders of military brigades and security apparatus, al-Mikhlafi praised efforts of the army and all concerned bodies in the governorate in opening the Camp-al-Qasr Road and securing the road for travelers in short time .

He stressed taking all necessary and precautionary measures and implementing directives regarding the entry and exist of the national currency from and into the city.

The Chief of Staff of the Axis presented a report on the field conditions, and the continued targeting of army positions by the militias supported by Iran, injuring many individuals due to the shelling during the Eid days, and attempts to breach the fronts, which were confronted by the heroes of the National Army, inflicting heavy losses on them.

The commander of the 22nd Mika Brigade also presented a report on the brigade's efforts with the competent authorities in preparing the road and the military procedures, and a report on the security measures taken to facilitate the movement of travelers was also presented by the Governorate Police Department.

The meeting resulted in several decisions and the importance on the continued coordination between the local authority, the army and the security agencies for the service of the governorate and the preservation of security and stability.
