Taiz Governor discusses with UN envoy measures of opening roads

Governor of Taiz Nabil Shamsan discussed Tuesday with the UN Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg developments regarding opening roads and providing water to the city of Taiz.

The two parties discussed efforts alleviating suffering of Taizi people and efforts of the United Nations to support the sustainable development in the governorate.

Governor Shamsan touched upon current preparations to open roads led by al-Hoban-al-Camp-al-Khair Road and efforts of the local authority in coordination with military and security institutions to end obstacles and easing arrival of citizens to the city, as well as pumping water from al-Hoban to the city to alleviate suffering of the citizens.

Shamsan confirmed keenness on the safety of the citizens and taken all necessary measures to ensure facilitating and arrival of the citizens, and sustainability of keeping roads opened under the sponsorship of the United Nations.

For his part, the UN envoy confirmed his follow up to the process of opening the roads and exerting more efforts to ensure sustainability of the procedures and measures of crossing citizens from and into Taiz city easily and without obstacles.

He reviewed efforts he exerted to reach sustainable solutions ensuring continuity of these measures as they are key points of the ceasefire must be realized.
