Dubai – Saba
Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi has confirmed that the Republic of Yemen deals with the water, food, and energy sectors as interconnected sectors, and draws its development policies within this tripartite nexus as it is the decisive factor in the government’s strategy to improve the management of these sectors in a balanced manner and to link them.
Al-Sharjabi made the remarks in a discussion session organized by the United Nations Office for Project Services, today, Wednesday, on the sidelines of the 28th Climate Conference in the Emirati city of Dubai, to review renewable energy solutions for sustainable infrastructure.
The Minister of Water and Environment pointed out the government’s keenness to develop development plans to effectively address the problem of water deficit and the worsening effects of climate change. It aims to use alternative energy instead of fossil energy so as to achieve 30% of operational energy by the year 2027 in service institutions.
