The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms revealed that the Iranian-backed Houthi militia committed 119 violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law in Taiz governorate during the two-month UN truce period, from April 1 to May 31, 2022 AD.

In a report on the Houthi militia's violations of the humanitarian truce in Taiz governorate, the network said the violations ranged from killing, to wounding, kidnapping, displacement, deprivation of education and preventing access to treatment, food and water as a result of the imposed by the Houthi militia at the entrances to the city of Taiz.

The network said militia used excessive force shelling residential neighborhoods, commercial centers, public markets, lanes, roads and city streets with howitzers, Katyushas, ​​mortars, tank shells, and used sniper shootings and planted landmines on roads leading to and from the city, which caused many casualties among civilians especially children and women.
