Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Waed Badheeb, discussed with the World Bank Vice President for Middle East and North Africa Ferid Belhaj, determining the priorities and allocations of the World Bank's portfolio of projects in Yemen.

In the meeting, which came within the World Bank’s Spring Meetings, with the high-level participation of the Executive Director of the World Bank Group, Dr. Mirza Hassan, Minister Badeeb noted the support of the World Bank’s portfolio of projects in Yemen, and its impact in overcoming the deteriorating economic and health conditions that the country is going through.

He praised the strong partnership based on mutual understanding with the World Bank, stressing the importance of the qualitative interventions of the World Bank, and their contribution to moving the wheel of development and the economy, building human capital, promoting good governance, transparency and justice in targeting, and encouraging the role of the private sector and women in development, protecting the environment and society from the effects of climate change.
