Yemen participated today in the 49th session of the Industrial Development Board, organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

Yemen's representing delegation was headed by the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Yemen to the United Nations Office in Vienna Haitham Shuja Al-Din.

Delivering Yemen's speech, Shuja Al-Din called for working to establish a partnership with the Yemeni government by preparing a national program, stressing the Yemeni government’s readiness to support the organization’s efforts in mobilizing resources from brotherly and friendly donor countries to help finance projects that will be agreed upon within the framework of this program.

He stressed the need to take into account the developments and damages that affected the economic sectors in Yemen as a result of the Houthi militia's coup against the government on September 21, 2014, which requires double and comprehensive efforts to support the various economic sectors that have been greatly affected by the war, such as the energy sector, fisheries, agriculture, and industries, and small and medium-sized sectors.
