Parliament Speaker Sultan al-Barakani discussed Monday with French Ambassador to Yemen Jan Mari Safa latest developments in Yemen and mutual relations between the two countries.

Al-Barakani confirmed government's firmed position regarding realization of permanent and just peace to Yemeni people on the bases of the three internationally agreed upon references, the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and Security Council's Resolution 2216.

He pointed out to Houthi militia's continuous hindrance of all international and regional efforts and initiatives for realizing peace in Yemen, confirming that Houthi militia's continuous military escalation on Marib foils all peace efforts and opens doors to take all other choices for facing this sectarian militia and its Iranian agenda until restoring to peace and stopping its war on Yemeni people.

Al-Barakani demanded international community to double pressure on the coupist militia and its Iranian supporters to deal positively with peace initiatives.

For his part, the French diplomat expressed his country's firm position for supporting the internationally-recognized government and France's keenness on Yemen's security, stability, unity and sovereignty.

He hopped stopping fighting in Marib, ending the war on Yemeni people and resorting to peace through dialogue table.
