The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Yemen to the United Nations Abdullah al-Sa'di has said Yemen's losses in the period between 2014-2020 have passed USD 90 billion.

In Yemen's speech he delivered in the 31st Round of the United Nations General Assembly on Monday evening, al-Sa'di revealed that the state's losses of revenues reached USD 43 billion.

He pointed out that Houthi militia's war on the state caused the collapse of the Yemeni Riyal before the USD dollar and millions of families fell under the poverty line with daily income less than two dollars.

Regarding coronavirus pandemic, al-Sa'adi said Yemen, like any other country, has been affected the pandemic, which affected badly the health and humanitarian situations, the already deteriorated situations in the country over the war waged by the terrorist Houthi militia on the country.

He made it clear that the government faced big challenge over Houthi militia's willingly hiding of the pandemic and this led to its eruption, leading to many death and infection cases in their-held areas.

He pointed out to government's efforts for facing the pandemic and formed a national committee for dealing with it. The committee made many measures to limit its spread and provided test and respiratory sets needed by infected cases in cooperation with international cooperation.

Al-Sa'di confirmed government's positive dealing with the UN and its envoy's efforts for reaching a just and sustainable peace to Yemeni people on the bases of the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216.
