MOSCOW-SABA
Foreign Minister Khaled Alyemany participated in the fifth session of Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum held on Tuesday in Moscow.

This is the tenth anniversary of establishing this gathering in Cairo in 2009 by Arab League's General Secretariat and Russian Foreign Ministry to promote Arab-Russian mutual cooperation.

Alymany contributed to the discussions saying" Republic of Russian Federation with its important international position, its balanced and principled stances and constant support for Arab causes can significantly contribute to making peace, re-establishing security and stability in the Middle East".

The Foreign Minister spoke about the developments in Yemen highlighting the implications of Iran-backed putschist Houthi militia's coup which resulted in the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, citing the government's tireless efforts to reach political solution that can eliminate the coup, reiterating the government's full support to the UN's Special Envoy to Yemen.

Alyemany stated that the Yemeni government has kept on demanding full implementation of Stockholm Agreement as it is key step toward building confidence and moving forward to implement the UNSCR 2216 which stipulates that Houthis should handover the state's institutions to the official authority and hand back weapons as a prerequisite for establishing durable peace in Yemen.

He also pointed out to the government's efforts to reinstate basic services, allay the Yemeni peoples' suffering; expressing thanks to Suadi-led Arab Coalition's support for the legitimate leadership and Yemeni people against Iran-allied Houthi militia's coup d'état.
