The executive director of the National Demining Program, Brig. Gen. Ameen al-Aqeeli and the director of the Saudi Project for Landmine Clearance (MASAM) Osama Yusuf al-Qutaybi said that 32 teams of experts have been deployed to extract thousands of landmines left Houthi fighters before fleeing ahead of the advance of the army troops in several Yemeni provinces.
In a reception of the Deputy Interior Minister Mohammed Abboud Asharif in the Program's headquarters in Marib on Thursday, Al-Aqeeli and al-Qutaybi said the teams were deployed to Aljawf, Marib, Shabwa, Beidha, Lahj, Taiz, Hodeidah and the western coast areas.
The Yemeni program and the Saudi project are implementing a humanitarian mission that aims to remove landmines from all Yemeni territories without exception.
