Arab Parliament reiterates its rejection and condemnation of child recruiting by Houthi putschist militia in Yemen that has embarked on engaging children in field battles and making them human shields.
Speaker of Arab Parliament Masha'l bin Fahm Assalmi stated that child recruitment is a flagrant violation of International norms, Law and Treaties that protect children' rights. It is also an offense amounts to war-crimes and offenses against the humanity.
Assalmi's statement came in written letters transmitted to the UN Secretary General, President of the International Security Council, Speaker of International Parliamentary Union (IPU), UN High Commissionaire for Human Rights, Head of UN Human Rights Council, Executive Director of the UNICEF, Speakers of Regional Parliaments" European Parliament, Parliament of Overall Africa, Latin America's Parliament, General Association of NATO's Parliament, Mediterranean Parliamentary Association".
Assalmi acted in accordance with a unanimously decision taken by Arab Parliament in its session held on July 4,2018 in Cairo about Houthi coupist militia's child recruitment in Yemen.
Assalmi called on the UN to take immediate and firm steps about Houthi militia's forcefully recruiting children in Yemen and engaging them in the field battles and using them as human shields to fight its absurd warfare it has waged against the legitimate authority in Yemen.
The Speaker of Arab Parliament asked the UN Secretary General and President of the International Security Council to refer Houthi militia's crimes about child recruitment in Yemen to the International Criminal Court (ICC) and to hunt down Houthi militia's leaders in order to be held accountable for their crimes against the Yemeni children.
Assalmi also called on the UN High Commissionaire for Human Rights, Head of the UN Human Rights Council and the UNICEF' s Executive Director to take urgent and stern measures against Houthi militia's violations of the International Law and Humanitarian Law, UN's resolutions and all International Treaties about children' rights.
The Speaker of Arab Parliament urged the IPU and Regional Parliaments to condemn and denounce the Houthi militia's criminal acts against the humanity and the Yemeni children's rights.
