A delegation from the European Union visited Saturday the ongoing construction of water reservoir project in the Al-Barzakh area of Aden, which has a budget of €2,749,000, funded by the German Development Bank and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The delegation, which included Deputy Ambassador of the Netherlands Merike Weerd, Deputy Ambassador of France Émeric Puyvel, and First Secretary of the Norwegian Embassy Andreas Thomsen, was briefed by the General Director of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in Aden Engineer Mohammed Bakhibira.

They learned about the project's progress, which is being implemented by the Social Development Fund through the company Dom International, including soil testing and the construction of a steel reservoir base with a capacity of 18,000 cubic meters.

The EU delegation also reviewed the state of water services in Aden and the challenges faced by the Aden Water Corporation in providing water services.

The delegation emphasized the EU's commitment to implementing such strategic projects, including the water reservoir project, which will enhance the capacity of the Aden Water Corporation to supply water to residents in the governorate.
