Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), Governor of Marib Sultan al-Arada held talks today, Monday, with the Ambassadors of the EU countries to the Republic of Yemen over a range of topical issues.
The discussions, which conducted via video conference, led by the Head of the EU Delegation in Yemen Mr. Gabriel VINALS included the Ambassadors of France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Austria, Portugal, Poland, Finland, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Hungary , Romania, Croatia, Slovakia , Slovenia, Estonia , Malta and Cyprus.
The conversations covered the latest developments in the Yemeni national scene, including political, economic, military, security situations and the repercussions of the humanitarian crisis and the economic hardships the Yemeni people have been enduring due to the persistence of the warfare triggered by the terrorist Houthi militias since one decade.
Al-Arada hailed Yemeni-European relations as robust and constructive in various spheres, highly praising the interest of the EU countries in the humanitarian and development situation in, deeply appreciating their substantial contribution to the humanitarian actions that helped to allay the Yemeni peoples' suffering.
Al-Arada reiterated the commitment of the PLC to support the efforts of the UN's Special Envoy to Yemen and all efforts aiming to achieve the comprehensive, fair and sustainable peace in Yemen in accordance with the peace references, which are agreed on nationally, regionally and internationally.
The PLC's member highlighted genuine threats to the peace process in Yemen, noting that all regional good offices and the UN-led efforts are doomed of failure amid the continuation of the Houthi militias escalation in the Red Sea and all flashpoints in the country and the militias' insistence on carrying out the agenda of their backers in Tehran that is seeking to turn Yemen into battlefield for its regional and international conflicts.
The European Ambassadors have confirmed the continuation of their countries' support for the PLC, headed by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the PLC's members and the government to carry out the political and economic reforms and achieve the stability of the living conditions and basic services in Yemen.
