Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak received today, Wednesday, in the temporary capital Aden, a Russian delegation headed by the Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the Foreign Ministry of the Federal Republic of Russia Alexander Kinshak.

Yemeni-Russian bilateral relations and cooperation were elaborately discussed in light of the recent communications and understandings.

The developments in the Yemeni national scene and the Red Sea due to Houthis' terrorist attacks on the commercial ships and international navigation and the required Russian efforts to contain the implications of them were also touched upon.

The Prime Minister praised the Yemeni-Russian relationships, describing them as historic, underscoring the importance of further broadening the joint cooperation and collaboration in the various spheres.

Bin Mubarak highly praised Moscow's supportive stances, as a Permanent member of the International Security Council, in support of the Yemeni people and its internationally recognized government, highlighting the good prospects to further stepping-up bilateral cooperation in the areas of electricity, oil, agriculture and fishery .

"The Yemeni government has warmly welcomed reopening the Russian embassy in the temporary capital Aden", he said.

The Russian delegation touched upon the tangible development in terms of increasing joint cooperation in light of the outcomes of the Prime minister's visit to Moscow and the visits of the concerned ministers, signing a memorandum of understanding about bilateral cooperation and the underway preparations to hold the meeting of the joint ministerial committee.

The delegation confirmed Russia's support for the Yemeni government and the efforts aiming to stop the war, re-establish peace and stability in Yemen.
