The Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development signed Thursday a Grant Agreement with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) worth $1.2 million to contribute to the rehabilitation and maintenance of homes for displaced persons in Yemen.

Deputy Governor of Marib Abd-Rabbu Miftah discussed Thursday with Vice President of the International Committee for the Red Cross' Mission in Yemen David Monts and Director of the organization's office in Marib Erick Arets humanitarian interventions of ICRC in the province and possible increase of them in the forthcoming year.
Miftah praised efforts of the organization in Marib during the past period and expressed hope of the local authority to enhance humanitarian partnership to expand interventions under the huge needs.
He pointed out to significance of continuous cooperation and support to Red Crescent Society in the province, as well as improving performance of its staff, qualifying them and supporting them with necessary supplies.
For his part, the Vice President of the ICRC's mission in Yemen confirmed continuous interventions and activities of the organization in the province during the forthcoming year and providing humanitarian interventions to different sectors led by health, water and shelter, focusing on the neediest groups.
