His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Muhammad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, departed today, Friday, from the interim capital, Aden, heading to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to hold consultations with regional and international actors regarding the latest developments in the local situation, particularly the recent events in the eastern governorates.

Member of Presidential Council receives US ambassador to Yemen

RIYADH - SABA
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Abdullah al-Alimi received Thursday US Ambassador to Yemen Stephen Fagen discussing with him latest developments in Yemen and Houthi militia escalations and rejecting UN truce.

Al-Alimi reviewed efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council in supporting efforts of the UN envoy for Yemen to extend the UN truce and efforts exerted by the council to protect the truce and keeping it active embarking on the council's keenness on promoting peace chances.

He confirmed that the recent escalation of Houthi militia and targeting vital and economic establishments is considered targeting to humanitarian and service situation, harming interests of all Yemeni people and represents a real threat to the region.

For his part, the US diplomat confirmed his country's situation denouncing Houthi militia's escalation of targeting vital establishments, confirming support of the US to efforts of the UN envoy for Yemen to realize peace in the country.

He renewed his country's support to the Presidential Leadership Council and to Yemen's unity, security and stability.
